Catalogs built from supplier feeds inherit the supplier idea of a description. It was never written for a buyer and it certainly was not written for a machine. Rewriting it by hand is a quarter of work nobody has, and running the whole catalog through a model is expensive and unpredictable. The answer is to separate the two kinds of work.
Most of it is structural. Only some of it needs writing.
Structural, and free
Identifiers, schema, units in titles, specifications lifted from metafields, language tags, llms.txt. Rules do this deterministically across the whole catalog at no credit cost.
Editorial, and metered
The sentence that states the fit, the answer to a repeated buyer question, the description that has to exist. Drafted from the product data, estimated before generation, one to two credits each.
Impact ordered
The queue is ranked by traffic against severity. On a 1,400 product catalog, 312 products carry meaningful traffic and grade D or F. Those come first.

A two thousand product catalog is not two thousand decisions. It is four or five repeated failures, and the products view sorts them so the first afternoon is spent on the ones that earn.

You review a batch, not two thousand pages.
